Yabusame at Shimogamo Jinja Shrine

Today there were held an event Yabusame. Yabusame is an old style horse riding and archery event. There is a long truck, an archery shooter riding on a horse in old style costumes, he let the horse run. Then he shoot an arrow to the small target. That is Yabusame. In Shimogamo Jinja Shrine, they hold this event on 3rd May in every year. This Yabusame is a one ceremony event of the big festival ‘Aoi matsuri’. It’s so unique. Many people came here but from the ground level we couldn’t see well. So there are the good seat need to pay. You can get the good seat with payment, and can watch the Yabusame over the heads. Me? I watched over the heads(you can see my picture!). It was enough for me because I’m tall man.
