In the early spring, many people want to see Sakura blossoms but there are no Sakura. But, don’t worry. We can see the Ume blossoms!
Many Kyoto people love the Ume blossoms, more than Sakura blossoms. So I went to Jonan-gu shrine which is a famous shrine for its beautiful Ume garden. You can see the eye catch picture of this page, wow it’s too beautiful. There were many kinds of Ume blossoms. Pink one, white one, and red one. Most of them were Shidare Ume. Shidare Ume is a kind of Ume trees which branches coming from up to down. So blossoms are just in front of your eyes.
In other day I went to the other famous Ume spot Shimogamo Jinja shrine. There is a Ume tree called as ‘kourin’s Ume’. The blossoms of this Ume tree are quite red. Just one tree but it has a presence. I love this one.
