Rice cake with chestnut

Autumn!
Still it’s hot, I have to go out in just a t-shirt. But the season is going to autumn now. I bought a rice cake. This rice cake has a chestnut inside. Japanese people, especially Kyoto people are waiting for the new chestnuts of this year. So many sweets shops wish to make the chestnuts menus with new chestnuts as soon as possible. My choice was at Demachi Futaba. This shop is very famous for its soft and high quality raice cakes, there is so long line in front of the shop everyday. Of course I joined in the long line, wait about 10 minutes, then finally I got fine rice cakes for me and my family. This shop’s rice cake is so fine, you have to eat within the day. The softness of the rice cake should be losen in the next day. I think sich fine rice cakes are mainly for the living people in Kyoto, but of course travelers can buy it there, and can eat it on the river bank of Kamogawa river. It might be a good memory of your travel. Enjoy!
