Kodai-ji temple

Kodaiji temple is the one of the best popular temple. Little bit southern area from Gion, there is this Kodaiji temple. This temple was made by Nene who is the wife of Toyotomi Hideyoshi, the biggest Shogun in Sengoku period. There is a small house for the statues of Hideyoshi and Nene. This temple is also modern style, you can see modern tiny garden with shidare Sakura in spring.
I think this temple has every essense of beauty of Kyoto. If you don’t have much time in your Kyoto stay, only one or two temples you have to choose to visit, Kodaiji temple is best. Access is easy.
