I visited to Ryotoku-ji temple at Narutaki. There was an event called Daikon Daki on 9th and 10th December.

Daikon means Japanese white radish. Daki means Boiling. So Daikon-daki means Boiled Japanese white radish event. Almost 800 years ago quite famous Buddhism monk Sinran visited this temple, the villagers provided him with dish of boiled Japanese white radish, then Sinran enjoyed it. After that, Ryotoku-ji hold this event every year.

The dish of Daikon Daki is boiled radishes and boiled deep-fried bean curd (Aburaage). They were so delicious.
