I guided a family guests at Gion and Higashiyama area. It was so nice weather with no cloud. We started our walking on 17:15 at Shijo Kawaramachi. We walked through Hanamikoji street, Yasaka pagoda to Kiyomizu-dera temple. I knew the sunset time might be around 17:50, so I wanted to let them see the beautiful sunset view from Kiyomizu. Kiyomizu-dera temple should close on 18:00, so I knew we could visit there just after closing time. But in my plan we wouldn’t go inside of the temple, just for sunset city view. When we reached there, just after closing time, just after sunset. We walked up to east, and turned to west at the top of the slope. There was the view. Quite beautiful.
It depends on the start time and season that we can see the sunset or not. Of course depends on the weather. Today’s walking tour was the best for such a beautiful sunset. I think they were so lucky, of course I was so lucky!
