Today 15th May is the day of Aoi matsuri festival parade. Almost 500 people in the old Japanese style fashion parade in Kyoto city. There are horse riding people, cow carriages and so on.

The main of this parade is a princess called ‘Saioudai’. She rode on a carriage, many young men bring it.

Today I watched this parade at Kyoto imperial palace park. Just only one hour. But the parade went on to Shimogamo Jinja shrine, and to Kamigamo Jinja shrine. Total route is almost 8km. Today it was too hot, I think it’s very tough walking. Looks beautiful and fantastic but tough. It’s like a bird on the river moving its legs under the water.
